நாகலிங்கம் பூ 🪷 In English, We call it as Cannonball Tree flower or simply Cannonball flower. The plant is scientifically called Couroupita guianensis. It is known as Nagalinga poo in Tamil because the petals of the flower resemble the hood of the cobra, protecting the Shiva Lingam[the stigma]. It's also referred to as the Shiva Linga tree or Naga Linga tree making it significant in Hindu worship. They are associated with wealth and prosperity. They are also significant in Buddhist culture.
